EduPack, Enactus Dundee

Edupacks vision is to tackle child education poverty which is extremely high in Dundee, leaving children unable to turn up to school with essential materials. Edupack creates packs using local university designers and supplies these packs with essential tools for children to ensure they get the best from their education so that children are given every chance to excel at school.

“Many children in Dundee are living in severe poverty. Children who get free school meals are less likely to get A*- C grades at GCSE than wealthier peers.”

Want to know what makes EduPack an EXCELLENT Enactus Project? Read on below!

    • Dundee has the second highest levels of child poverty in Scotland and therefore a significant educational attainment gap that needs addressing.

    • General poverty often leads to a lack of creative development due to a lack of access to tools and resources.

    • Creativity allows us to view and solve problems more openly and with innovation therefore it is critical that young people regardless of background have access to creative support and resource.

    • Through the creation of educational packs which contain essential creative learning materials including pens, pencils, and notepads, Edupack has been able to ensure that every child turns up to school with all the items necessary for a day of learning.

    • Edupack also collaborated with Dundee Art School Students who created Dundee inspired designs for the tote bags. They use suppliers that are ethically and socially responsible for our tote bags as well as local suppliers for the Edupack items.

    • Edupack have delivered 80 educational packs filled with essential learning materials for p1-p3 children at St Pius School and now aiming for another 80!

    • They have used these tools and workshops to unlock the creativity in the young people and potentially inspire them into a creative career.
