Career Readiness Programme 2023

Week one focuses on understanding the challenges in the graduate job market and adopting a design thinking approach to build a best-in-class CV! Join Unilever coach Tom Perry for a session specifically designed to support you in creating impactful and punchy CV’s that grab the attention of hiring managers no matter what role you are applying for.

Post Session Challenge: Create a one-page CV using Tom Perry’s design thinking methodology and submit it to us to complete week one of the programme!

Week two focuses on knowing the importance of personal brand to help you in successfully navigating a competitive job market. They say you create an impression within 3 seconds of meeting someone – what impression does your personal brand currently say about you? Also - Increasingly employers are turning to Linkedin when shortlisting candidates so in 2023 it is more important than ever to have a polished but authentic online brand to give you the edge over other candidates.

Post Session Challenge: Seek feedback from 3 individuals (one friend, one work/professional contact, one academic) on your personal brand and submit it to us to complete week 2!

At the halfway point in the career readiness programme, you will hear from the recruiters themselves on everything you need to know to succeed at the dreaded numerical and verbal reasoning tests. This is the biggest hurdle for a lot of students so this week will give you the tools and skills you need to pass them every time even if you think you are “bad at maths!”.

Post Session Challenge: Complete a numerical or verbal reasoning test, screenshot and submit your results to us to complete week 3 of the programme.

The interview is a nerve-wracking stage of the application process for any job, but it needn’t be! Join a Talent Acquisition Specialist from (EY) to get insider knowledge on what you need to do to succeed at an interview. You will gain an understanding of how you need to structure and frame your answers to showcase your experience and answer the toughest interview questions in a clear and concise way.

Post Session Challenge: Using the STAR technique, record a video response to the question “Tell me about a time you have demonstrated leadership” and submit it to us to complete week 4!

One of the most important skills for any application is being able to effectively communicate and demonstrate the skills that you have developed beyond your degree. The famous saying “Your degree gets you to the table but Enactus (i.e your experience) gets you the job has never been truer. With 41% of students now getting first class degrees you need to stand out from the crowd. Join Enactus UK Alumni Abtahee Islam (Amazon) and Ned Blin (Bic) as they explore how to sell your experience at every stage of the application process.

Post Session Challenge: Create an engaging Linkedin post highlighting the valuable skills you have developed outside of your studies providing concrete examples, screenshot and submit it to us. If you aren’t confident in what to put you could share how the Career Readiness programme has supported you!
