Roles & Opportunities Available     

HSBC’s graduate programmes will set you up for a thriving future. They are designed to challenge you and provide the skills and experience you need to progress your career. The programmes are for final year students, recent graduates and post-graduates. They typically run for one to two years. Throughout the programme you’ll have responsibility for delivering real projects enabling you to develop the skills and experience you'll need to succeed in future roles. You'll develop future-ready skills, building your network and make an impact.

Wealth and Personal Banking Graduate Programme 2025

  • Available to work full time from July 2025 onwards.

  • Obtained, or expected to obtain, a minimum of a 2:1 Degree classification (or over-seas equivalent)

  • Fluent in English.

  • A commitment to being nationally mobile.

  • Please note, that we do not offer any placements in London.

  • Locations: The Graduate Programme is rotational and you will be expected to change the location of your placement every 6 months. Potential locations include, but are not limited to: Birmingham, Chester, Leeds. Please note, that they do not offer any placements in London.

  • Duration: 18 months.

  • Application Deadline: 29th of January 2025.

“HSBC’s Wealth & Personal Banking business serves millions of customers worldwide, providing the support, expertise, products, and services to help customers manage, protect, and grow their finances. If you’re someone who wants to make a real difference to our personal banking customers and operations, is curious, and wants to solve problems for the better, this could be the perfect programme for you.

Your programme will start by developing a customer centric mindset, understanding our operations in digital transformation to find impactful solutions, and you'll learn how to lead and inspire a team. You'll have all the support needed to take ownership for project management of products and propositions whilst working on strategic business development. We know how important it is to have the right skills, both for your future and ours. By building this skillset now, we’ll help you develop the agility to keep learning new skills throughout your career with HSBC.

Towards the end of the programme, you’ll have an informed idea of the career path you want to follow in Wealth & Personal Banking. This might include roles in our digital teams, product development teams, strategy, or sustainability.

This programme is customer focused and will not include placements or exposure to Asset Management or Private Banking. If you are interested in these programmes instead then please explore and apply to these programmes directly.

You’ll experience the above in 3 x 6 months rotations across locations based in the UK. These locations will typically include (but not exclusive to) Birmingham, Leeds, or Chester. This programme will not include London as a location option so please ensure you are comfortable with a programme that includes location-rotation before applying.

You won’t be on your own on this programme. We have a great graduate community who you can fall back on for support and share your journey together. You’ll be assigned a buddy and a mentor to turn to. You’ll be provided guidance and direction from an award-winning development team who will be there throughout the duration of your time.
