HSBC’s Insight Programmes are the first step to starting a career with HSBC.
They’ll give you an insight into their work environment and an introduction to the world of financial services as you begin to develop the skills you'll need for your professional career. You’ll have the opportunity to build your network, connecting with senior leaders, employee resource groups and our graduates. At the end of the programme, you'll be given the opportunity to apply to their Internship or Graduate Programmes for the following year.

Insight Programmes Available
HSBC UK’s Insight programmes are open to first- or second-year university students, and recent graduates, who want to get a greater understanding of the finance industry, learn more about their opportunities and experience HSBC’s culture before applying to our internships.

UK Insight Programme 2024/2025
First-year undergraduates studying a three-year degree or for second-year undergraduates of a four-year degree.
Available to work full time 14th to 17th April 2025.
Obtained, or expected to achieve, a minimum of a 2:1 Degree classification or higher or overseas equivalent to this.
DBS only: As we are not able to offer sponsorship for full time, permanent positions for roles within Digital Business Services and, due to the limited number of places we have on our insight programme, we are only able to consider those candidates who will not require onward sponsorship after graduation.
Fluent in English.
Location: Birmingham (CMB, WPB), Sheffield (DBS)

UK Socio-economic Mobility Insight Programme 2024/2025
This programme is aimed primarily at students from a low socio-economic background. HSBC welcome applications from students of all backgrounds, and degree disciplines, not just those who’ve studied finance-related degrees, or those who have knowledge of banking.
First-year undergraduates studying a three-year degree or for second-year undergraduates of a four-year degree.
Available to work full time 14th to 17th April 2025.
Obtained, or expected to achieve, a minimum of a 2:1 Degree classification or higher or overseas equivalent to this.

UK Women in Banking Insight Programme 2024/2025
This programme is aimed primarily at female students. HSBC welcomes application from students of all backgrounds, and degree disciplines, not just those who’ve studied finance-related degrees, or those who have knowledge of banking.
First-year undergraduates studying a three-year degree or for second-year undergraduates of a four-year degree.
Available to work full time 14th to 17th April 2025.

UK Black Heritage Insight Programme 2024/2025
This programme is aimed primarily at students of black and mixed heritage, but we welcome applications from students of all backgrounds, and degree disciplines, not just those who’ve studied finance-related degrees, or those who have knowledge of banking.
First-year undergraduates studying a three-year degree or for second-year undergraduates of a four-year degree.
Available to work full time 14th to 17th April 2025.
Obtained, or expected to achieve, a minimum of a 2:1 Degree classification or higher or overseas equivalent to this.

Women In Technology Insight Programme 2024/2025
This programme is aimed primarily at female students, who are keen to learn about technology and how it’s used in the financial industry. We welcome applications from students of all backgrounds and degree disciplines, not just those who’ve studied finance-related degrees, or those who have knowledge of banking.
For First Year Students: You’ll need to be in the first year of a three-year degree or the second-year of a four-year degree.
For Penultimate Year Students: You’ll need to be in the penultimate year of an undergraduate degree.
For Final Year Students: You’ll need to be in your final year of undergraduate study or recently graduated.
Obtained, or expected to achieve, a minimum of a 2:1 Degree classification or higher or overseas equivalent to this.
